WCC Co-Players Of The Week
Feb. 6, 2007 SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Senior guard Adoyah Miller of Loyola Marymount University and senior center Sean Denison of Santa Clara University share this week's WCC Player of the Week honor after guiding their respective teams to a pair of big wins in a pivotal week five of conference play. Denison led the Broncos to wins over Bay Area rivals Saint Mary's and San Francisco. The two wins improved the Broncos' record to 7-2 in league play and propelled them into a first place tie with Gonzaga in the conference standings. The 6-11 center nearly averaged a double-double on the week, tossing in 15.0 points per game to go along with 9.5 rebounds per game. In addition, Denison added 1.5 blocks per game and shot a blistering 70.6 percent (12-for-17) from the field on the week. Denison started the week by dropping in 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field and blocking two shots in the Broncos' road win at Saint Mary's. The Nelson, British Columbia native followed that up with a monster game versus San Francisco, scoring 18 points and grabbing a career-high 16 boards, while shooting 6-for-9 from the floor.
Miller was equally as impressive, leading the Lions to home wins over Portland and Gonzaga. For the week, Miller averaged 19.0 points per game to go along with 2.5 assists per game. Miller connected on 50 percent (9-for-18) of his attempts from the field and 61.5 percent (8-for-13) of his attempts from beyond the arc. Miller, a native of Verona, Italy, started the week by dropping in 17 points and handing out three assists in the Lions' win over Portland. The 6-5 guard then tossed in a game-high 21 points, connecting on 12-of-14 from the free throw line, to lead the Lions to their first win over the Zags in nearly four years, snapping a string of eight straight losses to Gonzaga.
