WCC Player of the Week
Pepperdine’s Duke Sardinha was named the WCC/Rawlings Player of the Week after leading the Waves to a sweep of SMC last week. Sardinha batted .625 (10-for-16) with eight runs scored, four doubles, three home runs, eight RBI and posted a 1.438 slugging percentage. Sardinha homered in three of the four contests and reached base a total of 14 times in 20 plate appearances for a .700 on-base percentage. He had an extra base hit in each game and posted multiple-hit and multiple RBI in three of the four games.

WCC Pitcher of the Week
Gonzaga’s Brent Dayton was named the WCC/Rawlings Pitcher of the Week for his performance against Santa Clara last week. Dayton tossed his first complete game of the season during a 2-1 win over Santa Clara. Dayton allowed only one unearned run while scattering six hits. He struck out two batters and did not allow a walk as he improved to 4-4 on the season. Dayton also dropped his earned run average to 3.27 on the year.
