WCC/Rawlings Player of the Week: Joe Jacobitz, San Francisco
San Franciscos Joe Jacobitz helped power the Dons into a first place tie with San Diego in the West Division, as the Dons swept Saint Marys in three games and improved their conference mark to 12-12. Jacobitz collected two hits in each of the Dons victories, batting .500 (6-for-12) for the series. The Junior scored three runs for Dons while blasting a three-run homer to right field in San Franciscos 12-6 win on Sunday. The San Francisco native drove in seven runs for the series, giving him a team-leading 33 RBI for the season.
WCC/Rawlings Pitchers of the Week: Eric Dworkis, Gonzaga
Gonzagas Eric Dworkis followed up teammate Ed Clellands complete game shutout with one of his own on Saturday, as the Bulldogs swept a double header from West Division leading San Diego. Dworkis struck out 10 Toreros and walked only one batter while tossing his second complete game of the season. The Bellevue, WA, native surrendered only six hits and improved his record to 6-4. The sophomore also lowered his earned run average to 2.80. Dworkis ranks third in the conference in ERA, third in strikeouts with 65 and is tied for second in wins with six.
