PENSACOLA, FLA. After a seventh place finish at the Gulf South Conference Championships in Memphis, Tenn. on Oct. 22, the 22nd ranked West Florida womens cross country team will compete in the 26-team field NCAA Division II South Regional this Saturday at 8:00 a.m. EST. The 6K race will be held at the Little Everglades Ranch in Dade City, Fla., hosted by Florida Southern College. West Florida is looking to improve on a 16th place finish last year.
West
Florida is led by a sophomore and two freshmen. Sophomore Dawn Kane was
the highest finishing Argonaut racer in five of the six races. At last
years regional championships, Kane finished 80th with a time of
25:39.
Freshman
Nicole Stanley finished tied with Kane in 46th place with a time of 20:32
at the GSC Championships. Stanley placed in the top ten in four of West
Floridas six races. Fellow freshman Margaret Harter is coming off
a 35th place finish at the GSC Championships. Harter placed in the top
10 three times this season.
