EMPORIA, Kan. - Michael Padilla ran his final race of the 2005-06 season on Saturday. After qualifying for the 1500 meter finals on Thursday, Padilla placed 10th out of 12 runners at the NCAA Division II Track and Field Nationals.
Padilla finished with a time of 4:06.97 at Welch Stadium. Przemek Bobrowski, a member of Gulf South Conference opponent Harding, crossed the finish line first with a time of a 4:01.27. The top eight finishers received All-America honors.
Padilla concluded one of the greatest cross country/track seasons in West Florida history. In the fall, Padilla was the top Argonaut finisher in all eight Argonaut races. Padilla also earned All-GSC First Team honors and earned his second consecutive trip to the NCAA Division II Cross Country Nationals. This was Padilla's second straight appearance in the track and field championships.
