Tripp Morrow fired a 75 in the third round of the Chattanooga-Geico Direct Spring Invitational to finished ninth individually and help Western Carolina move up two spots to an 11th-place finish in the 18-team field.
Morrow finished with a three-round total of 230, carding a 77 and 78 on day one of the two-day event. Senior Tim Eckberg led the Cats in the third round with a two-over 73. However, his three-round total of 239 placed Eckberg 65th. Sophomore Blake Wray and freshman Alex Arrigo each had a three-round total of 233 to tie for 35th. Sophomore Matt Flueckiger rounded out the Cats with a three-round total of 251 and an 89th-place finish.
Armstrong Atlantic won the team title with a total of 902. Charleston Southern came in second 11 strokes off the pace with a 913, while host Chattanooga was third with a 914. Jacksonville University's Russel Knox took home medalist honors with a three-round total of 215 (73-69-73).
Western Carolina will return to action Mar. 26-28 at the annual Furman Intercollegiate.
