Purple Pride Week Spirit Contest In Full Swing

Purple Pride Day is here and Sylva and Cullowhee area businesses are showing off their Purple Pride. Several businssees and their employees are decked out in Purple today including; Wachovia Bank of Cullowhee, The Jarrett House, Law Offices of Jay Spiro, Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, CCB, Bessie Mays, Merewether's, Macon Bank, Worldly Possessions, Vance Hardware, Blackrock Outdoor Company, Jackson's General Store, Charles Wolfe State Farm Insurance, O'Malley's, the Law Firm of Bridgers and Ridenour and Roberson Supply.

Paws and his panel of judges went around earlier today from business to business taking pictures (click on link) looking for the Top Three Purple Pride displays. Here are the winners:


1st Prize - $2,500.00 Advertising Package - Law Offices of Jay Spiro
2nd Prize - $1,500.00 Advertising Package - The Jarrett House
3rd Prize - $1,000.00 Advertising Package - CCB

A big thank you from the Western Carolina football team and the Department of Athletics to all businesses that participated in the Purple Pride Day Spirit Contest. Purple Pride Day and the Spirit Contest will become an annual event each football season, next seasons event is schedule for the week of October 13th and the Catamounts homecoming game vs Wofford.
