WCU Football Donates to Hurrican Katrina Relief

Cullowhee, N.C. - Member of the 18th-ranked Western Carolina football team collected donations from among themselves and gave $360.00 to the Cullowhee United Methodist Church. Specifically, the money will help the church with renovations to a couple of vacant houses in the area for hurricane victims to live.

WCU senior linebacker and captain Lamar Barnes presented the money to pastor David Reeves, who welcomed the team this week for a dinner. The team would like to thank the church for their genorsity and support this season.

The Catamounts will return to action this Saturday at 6:00 pm, hoting Southern Conference foe The Citadel on Family Weekend at Western. If you can not make it to the game, follow the game on the Catamount Sports Network, which includes affiliates in Asheville (WZNN, 1350 AM), Cullowhee (WWCU, 90.5 FM), Franklin (WFSC, 1050 AM), Hendersonville (WTZQ, 1600 AM) and Sylva (WRGC, 680 AM). If you are out of those media markets, fans can follow the game on the internet at www.wwcufm.com (free), www.supertalk1350.com (free) or www.catamountsports.com (subscription). The pre-game radio show starts 45 minutes prior to kickoff.

Other things to be aware of pertaining to the game itself; there has been a change in getting tickets and entering the stadium. Game day ticket sales for the Citadel game will start at Noon at the lower Ramsey Center ticket booth. However, for Western's final two home games, which start at 2 pm, ticket sales will begin at 9 am. The General Will Call has been moved from the upper Ramsey Center booth to the West Side ticket booth (in the northwest corner of the stadium). Two hours prior to kickoff, the lower Ramsey Center ticket booth will close and Game Day tickets may be purchased at the West Side ticket booth, the ticket booth nearest the student entrance and the upper Ramsey Center ticket booth on the southeast portion of the stadium. Ticket prices are as follows: Adult reserved is $18, Youth reserved is $8, Adult general admission is $14 and Youth general admission is $6. Tickets prior to game day can be purchased on www.catamountsports.com.

Also, a special gate for Catamount Club members who have already purchased tickets will be open two hours prior to kickoff. The entrance will be located on the West Side, marked for "Catamount Club" members.
