cawood - This will mark the 30th meeting between Western Carolina and The Citadel. The Bulldogs, who shutout the Catamounts 17-0 in last season's regular-season finale for both teams, owns a 15-13-1 advantage in the series. However, Western is 8-6 versus The Citadel in Cullowhee and, despite last year's loss, has won nine of the last 12 encounters with the Bulldogs. Also, Western has won six straight in the friendly confines of Whitmire Stadium.
While Western has enjoyed recent success, The Citadel dominated the series in the early years. The Cats did win two of the first three meetings all-time, but the Bulldogs won 11 of the next 14, tying once as well.
