WCU's Football Announces Times For Home Games

Cullowhee, N.C. - The Western Carolina Department of Athletics announced today starting times for its five home football contests for 2002.

Western's two home games in September (14th vs. West Virginia Tech and the 28th vs. East Tennessee State) are scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm. The remaining three home dates (Oct. 12 vs. Georgia Southern, Oct. 26 vs. Chattanooga and Nov. 16 vs. Appalachian State) are scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm.

WCU football will have three events in conjunction with the ETSU, Georgia Southern and Chattanooga games. The annual Mountain Heritage Day will take place prior to the ETSU game on Sept. 28. On the weekend of the Georgia Southern game (Oct. 12), Western will honor its 2002 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees, including Keith LeClair, Lori Lyons-Wilson, Thomas "Bubba" Wilson and Paul Jones. On Oct. 26, versus Chattanooga, Western will welcome back its alumni and friends for Homecoming activities.
