Prior to Western: Played in 13 games in his two seasons with the University of South Carolina, starting one contest as a true freshman ... As a true freshman, played in four games as a backup wide receiver, starting the Temple contest.
High School: At Brevard, Hemphill was selected to play in the Shrine Bowl and was an All-State selection as a senior, hauling in 40 passes for 879 yards with eight touchdowns. On defense, he tallied 17 interceptions over his junior and senior years combined.
