Prior to Wester: Spent four years at Tennessee, redshirting in 2001 ... Played in 26 games over the 2002-04 seasons, starting one contest as a freshman ... Career got off to a great start, as his first collegiate reception was a 19-yard touchdown versus Wyoming ... Ended his freshman campaign with four receptions for 45 yards, an average of 11.2 yards per catch ... As a sophomore, played in 11 games, hauling in three passes for 47 yards for an average of 15.7 yards per catch ... In 2004, did not have a reception, playing in four contests ... High School: At St. Thomas Aquinas, caught 28 passes for 550 yards and scored seven touchdowns while recording 20 tackles and three interceptions as his team went 14-1 before falling in three overtimes in the 4A state final ... As a junior, helped his team to the state title, catching 17 passes for 330 yards and five TDs and collecting 24 tackles ... Also a basketball and track & field standout ... On the hardwood, was a two-year starting point guard, helping St. Thomas Aquinas to the 2000 state championship ... In track, competed in the hurdles and 4x100-meter relay, as well as having 6'8" high jump.
