Michelle Sikes Name ACC Cross Country Performer of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wake Forest senior Michelle Sikes was named the Atlantic Coast  Conference Cross Country Performer of the Week after finishing first at the Lou Onesty Invitational this past weekend.

Clemson's Sam Bryfczynski was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Cross Country Performer of the Week on the men's side.

Sikes finished first out of 113 runners representing 11 schools at the Lou Onesty Invitational. The senior from Lakewood, Ohio crossed the finish line in a time of 17:20, finishing 23 seconds in front of her closest competition in the 6K race. The Demon Deacons would finish second in the team competition accumulating 41 total points.

Bryfczynski registered his first career individual title winning the 8K Clemson Invitational in a time of 25:54.30. The sophomore from Marietta, Ga., became the second consecutive Tiger runner to win the individual title at that meet. Clemson took home the team title for the fifth straight year tallying 19 total points.
