No. 16 Women's Tennis Falls To No. 7 Miami, 5-2

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 16 Wake Forest women's tennis team won two singles matches, but No. 7 Miami was too much, as the Demon Deacons fell, 5-2, Saturday afternoon in Leighton Tennis Stadium.

The Demon Deacons fall to 8-4 overall and 1-2 in the ACC, while the Hurricanes improve their winning streak to 10 matches and overall record to 13-4. So far in the conference, Miami is 5-0.

Freshman Ana Jerman picked up her 10th singles victory this spring with a 7-5, 6-4 win over #102 Melissa Applebaum in the No. 3 position. Overall in her first year at Wake Forest, Jerman owns a 18-6 record.

Christian Tara earned the only other singles victory for the Deacs, a 6-4, 6-3 win over Patricia Starzyk at the No.4 spot. The victory is Tara's fourth consecutive and improves her to 10-2 during the spring season.

In doubles, the Hurricanes took all three matches for the point.

The Demon Deacons will look to rebound on Sunday, March 26 against Florida State. Match time at Leighton Tennis Stadium is set for 12 p.m.
