Wake Forest vs. Florida State
Wake Forest and Florida State will meet for the second time in five days as the two squads open the 2007 ACC Tournament Thursday morning at the Greensboro Coliseum. The Demon Deacons (9-19, 0-14) will attempt to put their disappointing regular season record behind them and focus on their "second" season. Wake enters the tournament as the No. 12 seed, facing the No. 5-seeded Seminoles. FSU (21-8, 10-4) tied for third in the final ACC standings but lost head-to-head tiebreakers with Maryland and NC State to drop to fifth for the tournament.

History on Deacons' Side
With Sunday's win, Florida State moved to 17-14 all-time against Wake Forest and stretched its winning streak to eight games over the Demon Deacons. The Deacons, though, have had the Seminoles' number in ACC Tournament play. Wake has won each of its postseason meetings with Florida State. The Deacs defeated the `Noles, 66-61, in the first round of the 1994 ACC Tournament held in Rock Hill, S.C. Three years later in the 1997 tournament held in Charlotte, Wake Forest again earned an opening-round win over FSU, 70-59. That year, the Deacons ended the regular season against Florida State with a 63-59 win in Tallahassee.

Last Time Out
The Demon Deacons are coming off a 74-57 loss at home to Florida State on Sunday. The game featured 12 lead changes and was back-and-forth for the first 27 minutes of action before FSU finally pulled away midway through the second period. Wake closed the first half on an 8-2 run to head into halftime trailing 30-29. The Demon Deacons then opened the second half with five unanswered points to build their largest lead of the game, 34-30. With Wake Forest leading 36-33 at the 17:12 mark, Florida State went on an 18-5 run over the next six minutes to take a 51-41 lead. The Deacons could not recover from the deficit, getting no closer than eight the rest of the way.
