Cross Country Teams Announce 2007 Schedule

May 22, 2007

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -

Head Coach Annie Bennett announced the 2007 Wake Forest men's and women's cross country schedules on Tuesday.  Both teams will open with the Wake Forest Relays in Winston-Salem on Aug 31.

The two squads will travel to Charlottesville, Va., the following weekend for the Lou O'Nesty Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia on Sept. 8.

From there, the men's and women's teams will split up and head to different parts of the country for the next two meets.  The men's team will make the short trip to Cary, N.C., for the Wolfpack Invitational on Sept. 15 while the women's side is scheduled for the Boston College Eagles Invitational on the same day.

The teams will get the following weekend off before splitting again for two different meets.  The women's team will head to the west coast for the Bill Dellinger Cross Country Invitational in Eugene, Ore., while the men will travel to Louisville, Ky., for the Greater Louisville Classic.  Both meets are on Sept. 29.

In their final meet before postseason competition begins, both squads will compete in the Chile Pepper Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., on Oct. 13.

Two weeks later, the teams will return to Charlottesville for the ACC Championships on Oct. 27.  The NCAA Southeast Regional Championships will be held in Louisville on Nov. 10 with the NCAA Championships returning to Terre Haute, Ind., on Nov. 19.
