Six Demon Deacons will be competing for national championships this weekend at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships at the University of Arkansas' Randal Tyson Indoor Track in Fayetteville, AR. Wake Forest's two-time defending ACC Championship men's distance medley relay team of Nathan Sisco (So., distance, Lebanon, NJ), Ryan Hamilton (Sr., sprints, Greenville, SC), Paul Singleton (Jr., middle distance, Greenville, SC) and Chris Estwanik (Sr., distance, Dublin, OH) return to the NCAA Championships for the second time and will try to improve on their ninth place finish last year. They are seeded sixth and will compete Friday evening. Nikeya Green (So., middle distance, Woodbridge, VA) will run in the 800m and Carol Merritt (So., sprints, Raleigh, NC) will compete in the 200m.
Merritt, who earned All-American honors last year at the NCAA Indoor Championships as the second leg of the fourth place women's DMR team, is seeded 16th in the women's 200m, which will have preliminaries Friday afternoon and finals Friday evening.
Green, who earned All-American honors last year at the NCAA Indoor Championships as the third leg of the fourth place women's DMR team, is seeded 17th in the women's 800m, which will have preliminaries Friday afternoon and finals on Saturday.
