The Wake Forest indoor track and field squads are headed to the ACC Indoor Championships this Friday and Saturday. The championships will be held at Dick Taylor Track in the Eddie Smith Fieldhouse in Chapel Hill, NC. Competition will begin Friday at 11:00 am with the men's Long Jump and conclude Saturday, with the women's 4 x 400M Relay at 4:30.

The Demon Deacons are coming off of a busy weekend, in which they competed in various meets throughout the country. The Wake Forest women's Distance Medley Relay team provisionally qualified for NCAA competition Friday night at the Razorback Tyson Invitational, taking third place with a time of 11:35.50. Adralyn Wendel captured third in the unseeded 800m with a time of 2:12.48, while Jill Miller placed eighth in the Mile with a personal-best time of 4:59.62. In the 800m Invitational, Nikeya Green placed eighth with a time of 2:07.30. Her time was less than a second from automatically qualifying for ACC competition.

The majority of the Demon Demons competed in the Virginia Tech Challenge this past weekend. Highlights from the two-day event include a first-place finish from Mike Altieri in the 1,000M, Eric Seely taking fourth in the 200M and seven Deacon men placing in the top-15 of the 3,000M. On the women's side, Lindsay Neuberger captured third in the Shot Put, her second-best time of the season, Cassy Richards finished fifth in the Long Jump and Jackie Muscente placed sixth in the 500M.

The 2003 indoor season has been an eventful one, as the women's DMR and Nikeya Green have provisionally qualified for the NCAA Tournament and two school records have fallen. In her first meet as a Demon Deacon, newcomer Lindsay Neuberger shattered the school Shot Put record at the NC Big 12 Challenge, while the men's 4 x 400M relay squad set a new record at the Penn State Invitational.

Results from the ACC Indoor Championships will be updated and posted on tarheelblue.com and flashresults.com.
