WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest senior Jill Snyder (Lewisburg, PA) was named the Atlantic Coast Conference's Performer of the Week following a first-place finish in the mile at the Nittany Lion Qualifier this past weekend.

Snyder completed the mile in 4:41.44, and that time marks the fastest in the nation thus far this year by a collegiate athlete. With her finish, she qualified for the NCAA Championships, and set a Wake Forest school record for an indoor mile.

The Nittany Lion Qualifier, held at Penn State University, featured 29 teams, including 15 Division I squads.

As a team, the Demon Deacons will compete in the 2000 ACC Indoor Track Championships Feb. 18-19 on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA.
