The Wake Forest Outdoor Track & Field teams spread out across the Southeast over the weekend and returned home with good results. The women's team competed in the UNC/NCCU May Madness Meet Friday and Saturday in Chapel Hill, NC, the men primarily competed in the Orange & Purple Classic Saturday and Sunday in Clemson, SC, while a few Demon Deacons ran in the James Madison Invitational Friday and Saturday in Harrisonburg, VA.

Nathan Sisco shaved a few tenths of a second off his best time in 1,500-Meter Run at James Madison, running a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 3:44.50. Chris Estwanik also beat his season's best time in the 1,500-Meter Run at James Madison, finishing in 11th place with 3:49.71. Kara Mullin ran the team's second best time of the season in the 3,000-Meter Run in her first try at the event, taking seventh place at James Madison with a time of 10:08.02.

At North Carolina, Paul Singleton won the 800-Meter Run running a career best time 1:49.84. Carol Merritt took fourth place in the 200-Meter Dash with a time of 24.48 and then placed seventh in the 100-Meter Dash with a 12.42. Nikeya Green, Summer Shaw and Shauna Danos finished third, fourth, fifth in the 800-Meter Dash. Green ran a 2:07.72, Shaw a 2:09.17, Danos a personal best 2:11.88 and Adralyn Wendel finished 11th with a time of 2:24.46. Kelly Brady was the runner-up in the 1,500-Meter Run with the team's best time of the season, 4:29.15. Jamie Grayzer finished ninth in the High Jump with a mark of 4'11" and placed 13th in the 100-Meter Hurdles with a time of 15.68. Jill Kovalcik was the runner-up in the Pole Vault, clearing 10'6" and Sandra Jenkins finished third in the Shot Put with a mark of 42'10".

Meanwhile at Clemson, Cliff Neal won the Hammer Throw with a mark of 186'5" and threw a season best 128'5" in the Discus Throw to finish seventh. Matt Udvari set a new career best in the 200-Meter Dash, with a time of 22.94, placed fifth in the Long Jump with a mark of 21'4" and threw 124'5" to finish eighth in the Discus Throw. Luke Orman took sixth place in the Long Jump with 20'4". Alan Susi finished in third place in the Javelin Throw, with a mark of 197'8". Sean Nagorny was the runner-up in the 5,000-Meter Run, with a time of 14:50.80. Tom Tymann took third place in the Shot Put with a mark of 46'7" and ninth in the Discus Throw with a mark of 118'4".
