Deacons Compete At Tiger Combined Events

Clemson, SC - Mike Piscetelli, Molly Kennedy and Melissa Council competed at the Tiger Combined Events in Clemson, SC, May 10-11. The trio combined for eight personal bests and two season high performances.

Piscetelli, a senior from Westbury, NY, scored 5,758 points in the decathlon, his highest point total this season. He ran the 100 meter dash in 12 seconds flat and the 110 meter hurdles in 17.19. He vaulted 11-11.75 and threw the javelin 133-09. All marks were season bests.

Kennedy crushed her previous personal record in the javelin throw, launching an 89-02 throw on Wednesday. She also topped her own shot put record, throwing 38-02.25 at Clemson. She finished the heptathlon with 4,427 points and claimed first place in four of the seven events.

Council claimed titles in three of seven events to finish with 4,353 points overall. She set personal bests in the 100 meter hurdles and the shot put, with marks of 15.13 and 27-01.25, respectively. The Cary, NC, native shattered her previous javelin throw record by over 20 feet, throwing an 85-07 on Wednesday.

The Deacons will compete at the Georgia Tech Invitational this weekend.
