Track and Field Competes at Duke

In Durham, sophomore Melissa Council placed fifth in 200 meter dash with a time of 24.29, fifth in the 400 meter dash running a time of 55.48 and finished 15th in 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.79.

In the 1500 meter run, Allison Kieffer placed 29th in the seeded run with a time of 4:44.82. In the developmental run, Carter Ellis placed 10th with a time of 4:53.34 and Ariel Meyers finished 16^th with a time of 4:56.64.

In the 3000 meter run, Nicole Schappert finished third with a time of 9:45.10. Senior Hanna Bremler placed seventh in the 5000 meter run with a time of 17:08.63.

In the shot put, Catherine Muehleib placed sixth with a toss of 13.39 meters, while in the javelin, Carly Mauch placed ninth with a distance of 37.69 meters.

On the men's side, Michael Bingham won the 400 meter seeded race 46.72 seconds. Senior Eric Seely placed fifth with a time of 47.92 seconds, and in the developmental division, Willie Idlette ran a time of 48.50 and finished second.
 

 

In the 200 meter dash, Kevin Marion won the developmental race with a time of 21.29 seconds and Idlette finished second with a time of 21.39 seconds. In the seeded division, Mike Loyd finished seventh with a time of 21.46 seconds.

Loyd placed fourth overall in the 110 meter hurdles running a time of 14.26 seconds in the finals after running a time of 14.35 in the preliminaries.

In the 1500 meter run, Robert Gielow placed seventh in the developmental group with a time of 3:59.19. In the 3000 meter run, senior Brad Wharton placed fifth with a time of 8:25.84, with Matt Owen placing eighth with a time of 8:34.31.
