Deacons Finish Competition At Yellow Jacket Invitational

Winston-Salem, NC - Lindsay Neuberger and Mike Loyd paced the Demon Deacons at the Yellow Jacket Invitational in Atlanta on Saturday. Wake Forest athletes set six new personal records and recorded eight season best scores at the George C. Griffin Track.

Melissa Council sprinted a team season best 24.37 in the 200 meter dash to finish 15th and set a new personal record. Hanna Bremler also ran a Deacon season best 2:14.08 in the 800 meter run. Mary Giardina joined Bremler in that event, setting a personal record 2:32.60.

Michelle Duffey finished sixth in the 400 meter hurdles. Her 1:03.78 was a top-10 mark in the ACC this season, a new personal record and a Deacon season best.

Lindsay Neuberger tossed her second regional qualifying mark in the shot put this season. She threw for 14.87m to finish second in that event. Kayla Gassman recorded the best Deacon javelin throw this year with her 37.56m performance.

Mike Loyd ran the conference-best 21.30 in the 200 meter dash. Freshman Michael Bingham also ran in that event, earning an ACC top-10 mark of 21.36. Loyd competed in the 110 meter hurdles as well, earning a team best and regional qualifying mark of 14.12 in that race.

Ben Renner set a new personal record and team season best 59.08 in the 400 meter hurdles. Adam Gabrault accomplished similar marks in the hammer throw, tossing for 52.30 meters.
 

 

The Deacons return to action at the Sam Howell Memorial in Princeton, NJ next weekend.
