Winston-Salem, NC - The Wake Forest men's and women's outdoor track & field teams finished up the WFU Invitational on Saturday at Kentner Stadium on the campus of Wake Forest University. The women finished the two-day event in second with 120 points, while the men placed third with a team score of 156.
Lindsay Neuberger won the Shot Put with a mark of 49-6.5 and threw a 144-8 in the Hammer Throw for first, breaking school records in each event. Jennifer Leesman was the runner-up in the Shot Put with a mark of 40-11.75 and took fourth in the Hammer Throw with a 115-7. Cassy Richards captured first-place finishes in the 100M, the 200M and the Long Jump. Detra Chambers finished the 100M in third with a time of 13.58 and ran a 27.84 in the 200M for sixth place. Geneva Long came in fourth in the 100M and placed fifth in the 200M. Shauna Danos won the 800M with a time of 2:14.95. Nikeya Green ran a 4:30.97 for first-place in the 1,500M, Courtney Lancashire finished second with a time of 4:37.27, Ashley Dunigan in sixth with a time of 4:51.46, Molly Nunn in eighth with a time of 4:53.16 and Erin Keating in 12th with a time of 5:09.75.
In the 3,000M, Risa Rutland was the runner-up with a time of 10:16.52, Danielle Coon placed third with at time of 10:20.10, Denise Hefferin in fourth with a time of 10:28.64, Erin Franklin in sixth with a time of 10:29.21, Rachel Mistur in eighth with a 10:38.95, Elizabeth Hagood in 10th with a time of 11:22.83 and Audrey Ingram in 11th with a 12:20.76. Jackie Muscente took third in the 400M Hurdles, while Catherine Fortin-Major took third in the 7:14.08. Wake's 4x100M relay came in second with a time of 49.98 and the 4x400M Relay placed second with a time of 4:04.64.
On the men's side, the 4x400M Relay took first place with a time of 3:20.62. Patrick Ladapo took first in the 100M and the 200M. Raymond Harbert placed fourth in the 100M and eighth in the 200M. Richard McDermott placed sixth in the 100M, while Mike Brown came in ninth in the 200M. Eric Seely finished first in the 400M and was the runner-up in the 200M. In the 800M, Paul Singleton captured first with a time of 1:53.61, Michael Altieri in second with a time of 1:53.69, Brad Wharton in sixth with a 1:55.81 and Westin Galloway in 11th with a time of 1:58.85. Garick Hill placed third in the 1,500M with a time of 3:54.05, Brian Smith came in sixth with a 3:55.67, Jimmy Butler in eighth with a 3:59.87, Matt Busick in ninth with a 4:02.03, Sean Stevens took 10th and Andrew Ice came in 11th. Chris Elder placed eighth in the 3,000M with a time of 8:59.51, Dave Barrett came in second in the 3,000M Steeplechase and Luke Orman placed second in the Long Jump with a mark of 23-2.5. In the Shot Put, Tom Tymann captured first with a mark of 53-6.25, Josh Carter threw a 44-5.5 for fourth place and Adam Gabrault came in seventh with a 37-11.25. Gabrault also took first in the Hammer Throw.
