FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -
Junior Michael Bingham and senior Michelle Sikes earned All-America honors on the second and final day of the NCAA Indoor Championships from the University of Arkansas on Saturday evening.
Sikes followed her third-place result in the 5,000-meter run on Friday with her fourth place finish in the 3,000m on Saturday. Her time of 9:13.33 was a new personal best and broke her own school record in the event. The finish was the Lakewood, Ohio, native's third All-America honor this academic year, having previously won the award during the cross country season in addition to the honor on Friday.
Having qualified for the finals of the 400-meter dash on Friday with a time of 46.54 in the preliminaries, Bingham ran a time of 46.12 to finish fourth in the race on Saturday. The result broke his own school record in the event and was good for Wake's third All-America honors of the indoor season.
Saturday wrapped up a very successful indoor season for the Deacons. Wake will kick off the outdoor season next weekend with the 49er Classic in Charlotte, N.C., on March 16-17.
