Indoor Track Teams Perform Well at NC Collegiate Big 12

Neuberger places second in women's Shot Put; sets school record.

The Wake Forest men's and women's indoor track & field teams were in action Saturday at the North Carolina Collegiate Big 12 Meet in Chapel Hill, NC. Freshman Lindsay Neuberger highlighted the meet by shattering the school record in the women's Shot Put with a mark of 49-7.75 and placed her second in the event, while also grabbing seventh in the weight throw.

Carol Merritt placed ninth in the 200-Meter Run with a time of 25.46:8 and Cassy Richards took 10th with a personal best time of 25.66. Richards also finished ninth in the long jump with a mark of 18-10.75, while Jackie Muscente took seventh in the 400-Meter Run with a PR time of 1:02.98 and Adralyn Wendel placed fourth in the 800-Meter Run with a time of 2:15.86. In the Mile, Catherine Fortin-Major placed third with a PR time of 5:08.93, Kara Mullin took fifth with a time of 5:17.93, Theresa Fath in sixth with a time of 5:21.07 and Ashely Dunigan in 12th with a time of 5:36.81. Courtney Lancashire took second in the 3,000-Meter Run, crossing the finishline with a time of 10:28.71, Rachel Mistur in fourth with a time of 10:39.30, Denise Hefferin placed sixth with a time of 10:40.88, Candy Hitchcock in ninth with a time of 11:08.31 and Caitlin Dempsey in 13th with a time of 11:28.82. For the Pole Vault, Elizabeth Washam took ninth with a mark of 10-4 and Jill Kovalcik came in 17th with a mark of 16-10.75. Jen Leesman earned seventh place in the Shot Put, while also taking 11th in the Weight Throw with a mark of 37-5.75.

On the men's side, Patrick Ladapo came in fifth in the 60-Meter Run with a time of 6.91 and placed sixth in the 200-Meter Run with a time of 22.28. Freshman Eric Seely took fifth both the 200-Meter Run and 400-Meter Run, with times of 22.23 and 49.91, respectively. In the Mile, Kevin Jones finished second with a time of 4:18.22, Brad Wharton in fourth with a time of 4:23.48 and Dave Barrett in eighth with a time of 4:29.93. Paul Singleton took third in the 800-Meter Run with a time of 1:56.59, while Mike Brown came in 27th with a time of 55.27. Garick Hill placed second in the 3,000-Meter Run with a time of 8:34.91, Nathan Sisco in sixth with a time of 8:46.03 and Chris Elder in 10th with a time of 8:51. 45. Matt Busick took fourth in the 5,000-Meter Run with a time of 16:26.97, while Luke Orman cleared 6-6 for fourth place in the high jump. Mike Eskind took a sixth place finish in the Pole Vault and 15th in the Long Jump, while Adam Gabrault placed fifth in the Weight Throw and Josh Carter finished 10th in the Shot Put.
