Lubbock, Texas -- The Wake Forest men's tennis team opens its NCAA Tournament run on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. (CDT) in Lubbock, Texas, with a first-round match against TCU.

The Demon Deacons have not met the Horned Frogs since 1988. If Wake Forest (16-6) advances, the Deacs would play either 14th-seeded Texas Tech (23-3) or Army (21-4), the Patriot League champions, on Sunday, May 15 at 1:00 p.m. Wake Forest has never faced Texas Tech or Army.

The Deacons are participating in the NCAA Tournament for the fifth straight year and sixth time overall. Wake Forest's best showing was in 2003 when Jeff Zinn's Deacons advanced to the second round.

Wake Forest is led by a trio of All-ACC performers including senior Derrick Spice and sophomores Andrew Hamar and Todd Paul. Spice, ranked 47th nationally, occupies the top spot in the Deacon singles lineup. Hamar and Paul each posted 20 singles wins and have been dominant in dual matches.

Spice has been selected to participate in the NCAA Singles Tournament for the second straight year.

Wake Forest is seeking its first ever trip to the Sweet 16 to be hosted by Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.

Live stats for the Lubbock regional will be available on TexasTech.com.
