Men's Tennis Travels To 30th-Ranked Louisville

Feb. 24, 2006

Louisville, Ky. - After a two-week break from competition, the 15th-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team swings back into action on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at 30th-ranked Louisville. The Cardinals (7-2) are riding a 46-match winning streak at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center, including recent wins against Virginia Tech and NC State.

Wake Forest travels to The `Ville with a 6-1 record and well-rested after a 13-day hiatus. The match will be the team's first action since February 11 when they rolled past 35th-ranked Minnesota, 6-1.

Wake Forest has been led by 15th-ranked Todd Paul who has a 6-1 record in the spring, including three wins against nationally-ranked opponents. Sophomore Mariusz Adamski also boasts a 6-1 mark, while freshman Cory Parr is won five of his six singles matches.

The Deacons and the Cardinals have had one common opponent in 2006. Both Wake Forest and Louisville defeated Northwestern, 5-2, earlier this spring.

The Deacons will return to Winston-Salem next week for a pair of home matches. The Deacons face Furman on Monday and South Carolina on Tuesday. Both matches will begin at 3:00 p.m.
