Mike Murray, a junior on the Wake Forest men's tennis team from St. Petersburg, FL, went 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles this weekend to lead the then-ranked No. 48 Demon Deacons to a 5-2 win over #41 Virginia Commonwealth and a 5-2 win over #15 Minnesota at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center.

Murray beat VCU's Mats Norin 6-4, 7-5 in the No. 4 singles match on Friday and Minnesota's Chris Wettengel 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 in the No. 4 singles match on Saturday.

In doubles action, Murray and partner Derrick Spice (Fr., N. Olmsted, OH) defeated Mats Norin and Martin Ott from VCU 8-6 in the No. 2 doubles match on Friday and then beat Minnesota's Reven Stephens and Manuel Lievuno 8-5 in the No. 2 doubles match on Saturday.

Wake Forest returns to action this weekend when the 32nd-ranked Demon Deacons host #68 Georgia State at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23 and East Tennessee State at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24 in the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center.
