Men's Tennis Defeats No. 51 William and Mary

Winston-Salem, N.C. - The Demon Deacons captured their third consecutive win of the season against William and Mary, 5-2. Wake Forest's pairs of Derrick Spice/Brett Ross, Todd Paul/Marius Adamski, and Liron Strauss/Andrew Hamar made a clean sweep in doubles action against the Tribe. The Deacs are now 3-0 on the year, while William and Mary falls to a 2-5 record.

In doubles play, the team of Spice/Ross defeated Alexandru Cojanu/Colin O'Brien, 8-6. The top-seeded player Spice also clinched a singles victory against Jeff Kader, 6-4, 7-6(10). Ross fell to W&M's Colin O'Brien, 7-6(2), 7-6(4).

At the number two doubles spot, Paul/Adamski beat Kader/Alex Fish, 8-4. Paul, the Deacs' number two singles seed, defeated Cojanu in a close three-set match, 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-3. In singles play, Adamski crushed W&M's Fish, 6-3, 6-0.

The doubles duo of Strauss/Hamar took out Matt Rubenstein/Kavi Sud, 8-4. Hamar also defeated Rubenstein in singles play, 6-2, 6-3. Wake's Joe Bates, the sixth seed, fell to W&M's Sud in three sets, 6-2, 1-6, 7-6(4).

Wake Forest returns to action against Virginia Commonwealth on Friday at 5:00pm in the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center. VCU is currently ranked No. 14 in the nation, with an undefeated record of 8-0.
