CHAPEL HILL, NC - David Loewenthal picked up another pair of singles victories Saturday to advance to the semifinals of the ITA Region II Championships. The sophomore men's tennis player from Wake Forest and his doubles partner Trent Brendon upset the top seeded pair from Georgia Tech before falling in the semifinals.

Loewenthal, a Franklin Lakes, NJ native who is the 10th seed in the singles draw, defeated Sagi Zakim from the College of Charleston 6-4, 6-2 in the Round of 16 and then beat fourth seeded Xaiver Luscan of Florida State 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (2) in the quarterfinals. He will face top seeded Florian Marquardt from Virginia Commonwealth in the semifinals Sunday morning.

The Demon Deacon duo upset Roger Anderson and David Wright, the top seeded doubles team from Georgia Tech, 8-6 Saturday in the quarterfinals. Wake Forest's Brendon and Loewenthal ended their six-match tear through the tournament with an 8-5 semifinal loss to Andrew Lux and Troy Stone of James Madison.

David Bere, a junior from Midland, MI, couldn't stop Roger Anderson from Georgia Tech, dropping 6-3, 6-2 in the Round of 16.
