Brett Ross and Derrick Spice led the Demon Deacons in the main draw singles action at the ITA All-American Championships. After teammates Andrew Hamar and Todd Paul bowed out of the tournament in the qualifying rounds of play, Ross and Spice represented Wake Forest in the remaining draws.
After successfully passing through the qualifying rounds of the tournament, both Spice and Ross began their play in the main draw by earning wins in the round of 64. Ross defeated Auburn's Gabor Zolton Pelva who was seeded No. 5, 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-4. In the round of 32, Ross lost to Harvard's Jonathan Chu, 3-6, 3-6.
Spice defeated UAB's Sebastian Falk in the round of 64, 6-1, 6-3. Spice's toughest match of the tournament came against the No. 1 seeded player, Catalin Gard of Mississippi, in the round of 32. Spice bowed out to Gard, 5-7, 3-6.
In doubles action, Ross and Spice lost to Georgia's team of Isner/Ruiz, 4-8 in the main draw round of 32. After this loss, they participated in the main consolation draw. Ross and Spice defeated LSU's Growcott/Hazley 8-4 in the first round of the consolation bracket. After receiving a bye in the second round, Ross and Spice lost to the team of Schweizer/Zolton Pelva from Auburn, 6-8, in the consolation quarterfinals.
