PIKESVILLE, Md. - Raul Munoz and Mike Murray of the Wake Forest men's tennis team lost in doubles play during the first round of the T. Rowe Price National Intercollegiate Clay Court Championships, Thursday evening at The Suburban Club of Baltimore County. The Demon Deacon duo fell to the fifth ranked pair from Tennessee, Andy Crews and Peter Handoyo, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1.

Munoz, a senior from Mexico City, Mexico, lost in the qualifying round of singles play Wednesday. Murray, a sophomore from St. Petersburg, Fla., automatically qualified for singles match play, but then lost in the first round Thursday morning to Tiago Ruffoni of Auburn, 6-3, 6-2. Murray bounced back and picked up a victory Thursday afternoon in the consolation bracket versus Dietrich Haug from Pacific, 6-4, 3-6, 6-1.

Murray will advance to the second round of singles competition in the consolation bracket Friday. Munoz and Murray will also play Friday in the consolation bracket of the doubles tournament.

The Suburban Club of Baltimore County is located at 7600 Park Heights Ave., in Pikesville. Admission is free to the general public. The tournament can be followed at the ITA's official website, www.ITAtennis.com.
