ELITE: Adamski, Paul Move Into Round of Eight

May 25, 2007

  • NCAA Doubles Bracket

Athens, Ga. -- Todd Paul and Mariusz Adamski rolled past Nicholas Delgado and Pedro Graber of Virginia Tech on Friday afternoon, 6-1, 6-4, in the round of 16 at the NCAA Doubles Championship in Athens, Ga.

The Deacons (21-9) move on to face the nation's top-ranked team, John Isner and Luis Flores of Georgia in the quarterfinals. It would be a tall order anywhere, but particularly because it will be played on Georgia's home courts.

Adamski and Paul, ranked ninth nationally, have never faced Isner and Flores in doubles. The start time of Saturday's match has not been determined.

Isner and Flores (36-2) squeaked past Tennessee's team of Adam Hubble and Ben Rogers on Friday, 7-6, 7-6.

The doubles competition continues through Monday, May 28 at Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga., hosted by the University of Georgia. The action can be followed live on Georgia's website, georgiadogs.com, which features live, point-by-point scoring and streaming live video on six of the 12 available outdoor courts.
