Adamski, Paul Advance In NCAA Doubles Competition

Athens, Ga. - Todd Paul and Mariusz Adamski battled past Dimitar Kutrovsky and Josh Zavala of Texas on Thursday, 6-4, 6-4, in the opening round of the NCAA Doubles Championship in Athens, Ga.

The win sends to the Deacon pair into the round of 16 where they will face an familar opponent. Wake Forest's team will square off against Nicholas Delgado and Pedro Graber of Virginia Tech on Friday afternoon at a time yet to be determined. The Hokies defeated Auburn's top team on Thursday, 7-6 (2), 6-4.

In the regular season meeting on March 23 in Winston-Salem, Adamski and Paul defeated Delgado and Graber, 8-3.

Thursday's win was the 20th win of the season for Wake Forest's duo, ranked ninth nationally.

The doubles competition continues through Monday, May 28 at Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga., hosted by the University of Georgia. The action can be followed live on Georgia's website, georgiadogs.com, which features live, point-by-point scoring and streaming video on six of the 12 available outdoor courts.
