NORCROSS, Ga. - The seventh seeded Wake Forest Men's Tennis team was defeated by the second-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels 4-1 as the Tar Heels advanced to the semifinals of the 2000 ACC Championship at the Racquet Club of the South.

The Deacons lone win came at the No. 2 singles match as Michael Murray was able to come back in the closest match of the day 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (4).

With the loss the Deacons fall to 13-11, 3-5 in the ACC. The Tar Heels advance to play the third-seeded Clemson Tigers on Saturday in the semifinals.
