WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- The Wake Forest men's tennis team defeated the
52nd-ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 4-3 at the Leighton Tennis Stadium
on Sunday.
Wake won three of the six singles matches. Raul Munoz defeated
David Wright 6-1, 7-5 at No. 3. At the No. 4 spot, Michael Berger defeated
Jason Jeong 6-1, 6-2 and at No. 6 singles, Justin Kaufmann defeated Fabio
Campos 6-3, 6-2. Wake won two of the three doubles matches to secure the
4-3 win. Munoz and Michael Murray defeated Tim Bibby and Romain Coirault
8-3 at No. 1 doubles and Kaufmann and Trent Brendon defeated Sergio Aguirre
and Jeong 8-4 at the No. 3 spot.
With the win, Wake improves to 11-10 overall and 2-5 in ACC
matches. Wake will be back in action on Friday, April 14, when they host
the North Carolina State Wolfpack for the Deacs' final regular season
match. The match is set to begin at 5 p.m. at the Leighton Tennis Stadium.
