JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- The Wake Forest men's tennis team defeated the 75th-ranked East Tennessee State Bucs 4-3 at the East Tennessee State outdoor courts on Thursday.

The Deacs won three of the six single matches and two of the three doubles matches for the 4-3 victory. Raul Munoz won at No. 4 singles 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 over Juan Yannuzzi. Justin Kaufmann defeated Anthony Bugge 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5 and Brett Mauro defeated Ricardo Nava 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6.

In doubles action, Munoz and Michael Murray defeated Marcos Pavlovich and Roberto Fernandez 8-6 at No. 1. Johan Hansen and Michael Berger won at No. 2, defeating Yannuzzi and Gustavo Gomez 8-3.

With the win, Wake improves to 10-9 on the season. The Deacs will play again on Saturday, April 8, when they host the Virginia Commonwealth Rams. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m. at Leighton Tennis Stadium.
