MONTGOMERY, Ala. The 31st ranked Wake Forest University Men's Tennis
team is off to a rough start at the Blue Gray College Classic at Lagoon
Park. The Demon Deacons dropped a 4-3 decision to No. 49 Rice on
Thursday afternoon and then suffered a 4-1 loss to No. 44 Tulane on
Friday.
Against Rice, Mike Murray led the Demon Deacons with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4
victory in the number four singles match and an 8-4 win in the number
two doubles match with partner David Bere. David Loewenthal and Trent
Brendon also won singles matches for Wake Forest.
In the Tulane match, Trent Brendon earned the only point of the day for
Wake Forest with a 6-3, 6-1 win in the number six singles match,
extending his winning streak to 10 matches.
The Demon Deacons, now 7-4 on the season, continue tournament action in
the Blue Gray Classic this weekend. The Tournament will conclude Sunday,
