Deacons Take The Pot In Vegas, 6-1

Las Vegas, Nev. - The 12th-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team beat the dealer on Monday afternoon in Las Vegas, upending the UNLV Rebels, 6-1.

Wake Forest (11-1) captured the doubles point by winning two of the three matches, including a victory by 31st-ranked Todd Paul and Mariusz Adamski at the number one position. At number two, Cory Parr and Charles Sartor extended their winning streak to seven matches. Andrew Brasseaux and Andrew Hamar were not as fortunate, losing 8-7 at number, seeing their six-match win streak snapped.

In singles, senior All-American Todd Paul suffered his first loss in 11 spring matches, but the Deacons were playing with house money at that point. Parr, Adamski and Hamar all recorded straight set victories to seal the team victory.

Wake Forest's pair of aces, freshmen Steven Forman and Jason Morgenstern, both dropped their first sets before rallying to three-set wins.

The Deacons return to action on Friday afternoon in Little Rock, Ark. Wake Forest faces UALR, where Jeff Zinn spent six seasons as head coach. The Deacons open their ACC schedule on March 21 at NC State.
