GREENVILLE, SC - The 29th-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team came back to win 4-3 over Furman Sunday afternoon in the Mickel Tennis Center. The 67th-ranked Paladins won two doubles matches to capture the team point but then the Demon Deacons battled back to win four of six singles matches to give Wake Forest its eighth straight victory.

Wake Forest doubles team of Mike Murray (Jr., St. Petersburg, FL) and Derrick Spice (Fr., N. Olmsted, OH) won the No. 2 doubles match 8-3 over Furman's Andrew Rogers and Peter Netzler and then they both won in singles as well. Murray defeated Rogers in straight sets, winning 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 4 singles match and Spice took out Chris Henderson 7-6 (14), 6-4 in the No. 3 match.

Trent Brendon won the No. 5 singles match in straight sets, as he defeated Furman's Patrick Gaughan 6-3, 6-3. Justin Kaufmann sealed the victory for Wake Forest as he came back from behind to beat Furman's Ryan McCarthy 3-6, 7-5, 6-3.

Wake Forest improves its record to 8-1 with the win and Furman falls to 1-11 with the loss. The Demon Deacons return to action next week when they travel to San Diego, CA to play Purdue on Thursday and San Diego on Saturday.
