Men's Tennis Remains Undefeated with a Win over Tulsa

Tulsa, Okla. - The Wake Forest men's tennis team captured their seventh consecutive win of the season with a victory over No. 52 Tulsa, 5-2. The Deacs defeated the Golden Hurricanes in five out of the six singles matches. The Deacs are now 7-0 on the year, while Tulsa maintains a 9-5 record.

In doubles play, Tulsa's Achim Roth and Aleksander Charpantidis defeated Wake's Derrick Spice and Brett Ross, 9-8. Spice, the Deacons' top-seeded singles player, took out Roth, 3-6, 6-0, 7-5. Ross also claimed a win over Ricardo Soriano, 7-6, 6-3.

Todd Paul and Marius Adamski lost to Diego Camacho and Andy Connelly, 8-5, in doubles action. Nationally ranked No. 71 Paul defeated Federioc Soriano, 6-2, 6-2. At the number five spot, Adamski fell to Tulsa's Will Gray, 6-3, 7-6.
 

 

The doubles duo of Andrew Hamar and Liron Strauss took out F. Soriano and R. Soriano, 9-8. Hamar remains undefeated for the season with a win over Charpantidis, 6-4, 6-2. Wake's Strauss, the sixth seed, clinched a win over Tulsa's Connelly, 7-6, 6-3.

Wake Forest will play again tomorrow against Oklahoma State in Tulsa, Oklahoma at 12:00pm. OSU is currently ranked No. 20, with an overall record of 7-2.
