NORFOLK, VA - The 43rd ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team defeated Old Dominion 5-0 Sunday afternoon. The Demon Deacons jumped out to an early 1-0 lead by sweeping doubles action with wins on all three courts and then swept the singles matches to defeat the Monarchs.

David Loewenthal and Trent Brendon won in the No. 1 doubles match, Mike Murray and partner Derrick Spice took the No. 2 doubles match and Justin Kaufmann teamed up with David Bere to capture the No. 3 doubles match.

Loewenthal won his No. 1 singles match, Spice won in singles at No. 2, Bere was victorious in the No. 3 singles match and Brendon came away with a win in the No. 4 singles match. With the outcome of the match already decided in favor of the Demon Deacons, the No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches were not finished - leaving the final score 5-0.

Wake Forest improves its record to 2-1 with the win. The Demon Deacons return to action next weekend, when they return home to host #40 Virginia Commonwealth at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15 and then #18 Minnesota at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16. Both matches will be played at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center.
