Wake Forest Men's Tennis Successful At ACC Indoor Championship
Munoz, Murray fall in semifinals of doubles action.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's tennis team competed in
the 2000 ACC Men's Indoor Championships this weekend at the Wake Forest
Indoor Tennis Center.
Senior Michael Berger, junior Raul Munoz and freshman Michael
Murray each reached the round of 16 to lead the Deacs in the tournament.
Berger defeated Sergio Aguire of Georgia Tech 6-1, 7-5 and Xavier Luscan of
Florida State 6-2, 6-4 before falling to Doug Root of Duke, who will be
playing in Monday's semifinals, 4-6, 4-6. Munoz defeated Ben Elix of North
Carolina 6-3, 6-2 and Ted Rueger of Duke 6-7, 6-1, 6-0, but lost to Marko
Gojanovic of Clemson 4-6, 6-3, 3-6. Murray reached the round of 16 by
defeating Mike Ingham from Florida State 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 in the first round.
In the second round, Murray's opponent, Huntley Montgomery of Virginia,
withdrew from the tournament allowing Murray to advance to the round of 16.
Murray lost in the round of 16 to Thomas Boneicki of Clemson 6-7, 2-6.
In doubles action, Munoz and Murray reached the semifinals before
losing to Doug Root and Ramsey Smith of Duke 5-8.
The Deacons will be back in action when they host the East Carolina
Pirates on February 5.
