WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Derrick Spice, a freshman men's tennis player at Wake Forest won his remaining match in the singles consolation draw of the ACC Men's Tennis Indoor Championships Sunday at the Wake Forest University Indoor Tennis Center to give the Demon Deacons a high note to end the weekend with.

Joao Menano, from Georgia Tech won the singles championship defeating Andy Metzler of North Carolina 0-6, 7-6 (6), 6-2. Florida State's Rodrigo Laub and Xavier Luscan won the doubles championship with a 9-8 (7) victory over Geoff Boyd & Nicholas Monroe from North Carolina.

Spice defeated Virginia's Jay Curtis 6-1, 6-0 in his final match of the consolation singles draw. The freshman from North Olmsted, OH, won three straight singles matches after losing in the second round of the main draw on Friday.

Wake Forest will return to action Sunday, Feb. 3 when it travels to Blacksburg, VA to play Virginia Tech at 2:00 p.m. Complete results from the ACC Indoors are available at www.wakeforstsports.com.
