Loewenthal Wins Singles Crown At ACC Indoors

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - David Loewenthal won the singles draw at the ACC Indoors Sunday afternoon at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center in the final day of the Demon Deacon's annual men's tennis tournament with seven of the nine league schools. Loewenthal earned a pair of straight set victories to capture the singles crown and was a finalist in the doubles draw.

Picking up a 6-4, 6-1 win over Doug Stewart from Virginia in the semifinals, Loewenthal dispatched Duke's Ludovic Walter 6-3, 6-4 in the finals. The junior from Franklin Lakes, NJ finishes the three-day tournament 6-0 in singles play.

In doubles action, Loewenthal and partner Trent Brendon fell 8-3 to Matt Cloer and Rodrigo Laub from Florida State in the finals.

The Demon Deacons return to action in two weeks when they host East Tennessee State in the dual season opener on Friday, Jan. 31 at 4:00 p.m. in the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center and Old Dominion on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 2:00 p.m.
