WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest senior defender David Kawesi-Mukooza was selected first overall by the North Carolina team, who does not have a mascot yet and will play in Greensboro, in the National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) Amateur Draft last week.

Mukooza scored 16 points over his career as a Deacon and started all 78 games he played in at Wake.

Fellow senior defender Chad Evans was selected 43rd overall by Baltimore. Evans scored 25 points from his defensive position over his career, including 10 this season.

Both players were keys in leading Wake Forest to a 13-3-5 overall record this season. The Deacons finished third in the ACC and were ranked as high as third nationally during the season, the highest ranking in school history.
