Four Deacons Earn All-South Honors

Dec. 4, 2003

Winston-Salem, N.C. - Four Wake Forest men's soccer players were selected to the NSCAA / adidas All-South teams by the coaches in the region that stretches from Florida to North Carolina. William Hesmer, Michael Parkhurst and Jeremiah White earned first team honors while Justin Moose made the second team.

White, a senior forward from Lansdowne, Pa., was also the ACC Player of the Year. He had eight goals and five assists for the Deacons. White leaves Wake Forest as the school's second all-time leading scorer with 37 goals, 19 assists for a total of 93 points.

Hesmer, a senior goalkeeper from Wilson, N.C. , was a two-time first team All-ACC selection and holds the Wake Forest career records for shutouts and goals against average.

Parkhurst, a sophomore defender from Cranston, R.I. , was the anchor of the Wake Forest defense that allowed less than one goal per game. Parkhurst was also a member of the ACC First Team. He has been on the All-ACC teams in each of his first two years with the Deacons.

Moose, a sophomore midfielder/forward from Statesville, N.C., made the All-South Second Team. He led the Deacons with seven assists which ranked among the ACC leaders. After just two years at Wake Forest, Moose already ranks in the top ten in career assists with 15.
