WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 1 Wake Forest men's soccer team will host Virginia for the regular season finale this Friday at 8 p.m. The game will be broadcast nationally on the Fox Soccer Channel.

The Virginia Cavaliers are 10-5-2 for the regular season and 1-4-2 in conference play. In the team's most recent contests, the Cavs were roughed up by Maryland in College Park, suffering a 4-1 conference loss. The lone Virginia ACC win came over North Carolina on October 6 when the Cavaliers posted a 2-1 victory over the Tar Heels in Charlottesville, Va.

Yannick Reyering, a Mettingen, Germany native, leads the Cavaliers in scoring with 13 goals for the year. The Virginia net is fortified by sophomore Michael Giallombardo who has 49 saves for the season through 1312 minutes.

Earlier this week, the Demon Deacons defeated in-state rival Davidson 5-1. Sophomores Zack Schilawski and Cody Arnoux each scored back-to-back goals in the Wake win. The victory set head coach Jay Vidovich's squad at 14-1-2 for the year.

Virginia and Wake Forest last met at the semifinals of the 2006 ACC Tournament in Germantown, Md. Wake advanced to the finals of the conference tourney for the first time since 1991 by edging the Cavaliers in penalty kicks following a 1-1 draw. Sam Cronin tied the match for the Deacs with one minute left in regulation.

Following Friday's match Wake Forest will gear up for the ACC Tournament, which set to begin November 13 in Cary, N.C.
