Bastidas Named to Soccer America Team of the Week

Oct. 30, 2003

Winston-Salem, NC - Wake Forest senior midfielder Vicente Bastidas was selected to the Soccer America National Team of the Week, the publication announced on Wednesday. Bastidas, a native of Catasauqua, Pa., assisted on three goals last week for the Demon Deacons. Two of which came against then-third-ranked North Carolina.

Already Wake Forest's record holder for most assists in a single game and a single season, Bastidas is shooting to become the school's career leader. With 21 assists, Bastidas is just three away from tying the Wake Forest record.

The Demon Deacons, ranked third in this week's Soccer America poll hosts Duke on Friday, Halloween night at Spry Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
